To Walsch's surprise, he received an answer in the form of a small voice that talked to him for weeks. It was at around this time while trying to find work and going through some serious soul searching that Walsch wrote his famous letter to God an angry plea asking what life meant. After all was said and done, Walsch ended up homeless for the better part of a year as well. It was here he endured a fire that destroyed all of his belongings, got into a car accident with an elderly gentleman that broke his neck, and suffered the break-up of his fourth marriage. It was upon moving to Oregon that Walsch went through many things that would bring his life into permanent focus. At 19, he worked full-time for a major station in Annapolis, Maryland, and this was followed with a stint in journalism and public relations which lasted in various capacities until Walsch was in his 40's. Starting as a college drop out from The University of Wisconsin, Walsch quickly became a professional success in radio broadcasting. As the celebrated author of the highly successful Conversations With God series, he didn't come to this status quickly however. Hailing originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Neale Donald Walsch has become known all over the world as a modern spiritual messenger.
